Beckham Hurts His Right Knee In SuperLiga Final

Despite hopes of a positive result last night, David Beckham limped out of the first half of Los Angeles Galaxy's Superliga final clash with Mexican team Pachuca nursing what appeared to be a knee injury.

Beckham tripped over the ball when challenging Pachuca midfielder Fernando Salazar. David remained face down on the grass for a few seconds before gradually getting up and limping to the sidelines.

A Galaxy spokesman said Beckham had suffered a sprain to his right knee.

I fear David is pushing himself to hard. His body is obviously not 100% fit which is why he keeps getting injured. This will now no doubt put him out for our two crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers. I do not want see David play again until he is 100% fit for club and country.

This is really sad. You can see the pain in his face.

Galaxy tied the match after extra time 1-1. The game went to penalties which Galaxy lost 3-4.

All for nothing.

Wow. Sad indeed. Everyone can see that he wants to play so badly, but his health needs to come first. The team needs to stop pushing him or he needs to stop pushing himself so hard. Give yourself time to heal David!
