Which Dress Should Victoria Wear?

Victoria Beckham will be wearing a dress from RM by Roland Mouret's debut line for her Jay Leno appearance on the 13th July.

Why RM?

Well it is because Simon Fuller finanically backed Roland after his split with his former partners.

Victoria will become the RM brand ambassador. Much to the dislike of a lot of fashion journalists who believe Victoria Beckham has the ability to kill a brand.

I have picked out my favourite dresses from his collection.

Please vote on the dress you would like to see Victoria wear.

Rock Republic Retain Victoria's Crown

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

An almighty row has erupted during which Victoria Beckham has been stripped of her crown.

The former Spice Girl, who prefers to think of herself as footballing royalty, signed a deal with Rock and Republic jeans two years ago to create an exclusive line in her name, distinguishable by the embroidered crown logo on the back pocket.

In 2006 Victoria terminated the partnership, having decided to launch her own range, VB, and charge nearly twice the amount for the denims.

By all appearances the split was amicable, but I hear that a secret battle has, in fact, been raging away over the crown logo, which Victoria wanted to take with her.

"Rock and Republic refused to let her use it and have retained the crown for their own new range, Crown Denims, which has incensed Victoria," I'm told.

Rock and Republic's UK distributor, Robert de Keyser of Dekeyser Fashions, refuses to bite his tongue.

"The new Beckham range appears to be seriously overpriced for a line which is made, unlike other premium denims, in China," he tells me.

"Whatever Victoria learned about denim from working with Rock and Republic appears to have been lost, ironically, in her move to LA with her husband."

Since the Saks Launch there have been stories that Victoria was fired by Rock Republic for her lack of professionalism.

Sources close to the company claim that cooperation with Victoria was terrible. She was indecisive and inconsistent in her work, and besides that, she is never around. She wants her name to be connected to the new clothing line, but does not want to work at all, unless of course, there is a camera somewhere close by.

Ouch! Bitter me thinks. But I will agree that looking at the jeans side by side that Rock Republic does look far superior in quality.

Victoria Beckham Talks To Style.com

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Prior to Victoria's Saks clothing launch in which reader Emma was lucky enough to meet Mrs Beckham, Style.com caught up with the Victoria. They said she was surprisingly approachable and happy to discuss her personal couture collection, what inspires her, and why she won't be doing a runway show anytime soon.

How does it feel to be designing?
I couldn't be the best singer, dancer, actress, but I'm actually good at this. I'm fanatical about rivets and things that most people don't even pay attention to.

What do you think every girl should have in her wardrobe?

The reason that I started on denim is that every girl should have a good pair of jeans.

Do you aspire to have a fashion show one day?
I'd love to. But I'd have to come out with more than just jeans, or there would be a lot of toplessness going on.

What item do you still wear that has been in your wardrobe the longest?
A Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe corset dress that I bought when I first got together with the Spice Girls, so it's actually vintage now. And I've also got some vintage James Galanos, Claude Montana, Azzedine Alaïa, and Thierry Mugler.

With Alaïa you can't really go wrong.
He's genius. I get along very, very well with him. This year my husband took me to Paris as a surprise, and he took me to the Alaïa showroom, where I was fitted for a dress. That was great.

Have you learned anything new in the design process that you didn't know before?
How quickly you have to think ahead. I get inspiration from everywhere and everything—it's not always fabrics. I found these genius lilac trees when I was in L.A., and I took photos of them and sent them on to people. Everyone got pictures of these trees and was like, "What's going on?" You never know where you're going to get your inspiration from.

Victoria Beckham has designs on Denim

Victoria Beckham has joined forces with one of the worlds leading denim manufacturers, Western Glove Works, to develop and distribute her debut denim collection through her own label, 'dVb'.

The collection will be simply named 'dVb denim'.

June 2007 is the when the first few lines hit the store with the main collection arrive from September onwards.

Victoria says: "I've been lucky enough to work closely with some of the true masters of denim to design and develop a collection that is very personal to me. I've loved denim since I can remember and for a long time couldn't find what I consider to be the perfect pair of jeans, so it was important for me to develop a collection that embodied all the qualities I look for in a fantastic pair. I wanted to go back to basics to achieve an elegant and tailored feel ensuring the jeans sit flat, not bag around the knee or cut in around the stomach. I want women to look and feel great when they wear them. We have lots of new styles and washes in the collection including resin, which has a wonderful finish."

Alan Einarson from Western Glove works says:
"Victoria is one of the most prominent fashion enthusiasts of our day. She has an innate sense of style, fit and proportion that transcends all ages

Victoria Talks About Her New Fashion Line

Posh spoke exclusively to WWD magazine about her new clothing line:

"People would be quite upset if I actually smiled," she said, jokingly. They almost expect her to be serious with "the miserable cow syndrome," she quipped. "I think it's funny. At the end of the day, I like to poke fun at myself. I am a very happy, fun, smiley person. It just doesn't always translate that well."

"The children aren't spoiled at all. They are not used to walking into toy shops like this. Contrary to what people think, we live a relatively simple life at home."

"We have a few very good friends that are celebrities," she said. "But David and I don't go out that much. Obviously, it's fun every now and then to go out for dinner, but am I going to start going to nightclubs with Britney Spears every night? Possibly not. I have three children, I work hard, and when I am not working, I am at home with the kids."

On The Spice Girls, "It was fantastic and I am so grateful for the girls, and how successful we were because it's given me the opportunity to do what I actually really, really love. We were like a girl gang. We were five best friends. What people didn't want to believe about the Spice Girls is that we actually genuinely were like that. Emma came in with those pigtails, Geri came in with the red hair and the big boobs and the little tiny HotPants, and Melanie B. really was scary. And the sporty one was obsessed with soccer. That was what was so phenomenal about us."

She's expanding the DVB lifestyle brand to include denim. Victoria is no stranger to the jean business. She made a mint for Rock & Republic and is even suing and is even suing them for her fair share.

We can't wait to see them.

Posh To Sue Rock Republic

Victoria Beckham is claiming she is owed millions of dollars for loss of earnings from her Rock & Republic denim line. Posh claims her jeans were much more profitable than the fashion firm has let on and she wants her fair cut.

The Sunday Mirror reports:
"With the company based in the US, this is likely to be a long-running and complex legal battle if no agreement can be reached."

However, Michael Ball, Rock & Republic’s owner said last night that the company has heard nothing about any legal action. The owners—always the last to know!

Recently, Posh announced she would be splitting with the fashion company in order to design her own line under the label DVB.

The line is set to launch early next year, so mark your calendars. I am sure it will be fantastic
