David Beckham will be back with the Galaxy rather than staying with AC Milan, it was reported today.
Tim Leiweke, chief executive of AEG, which owns the Galaxy, said that AC Milan failed to meet Major League Soccer's deadline Friday for making a better offer to keep David.
Leiweke said that "no later offers would be considered and David will be back on the March 9 and we don't want to entertain any more conversations now. It is a distraction to [Galaxy Coach] Bruce Arena, the team and the fans and we move on. That's the last we're going to talk about this".
I think this is really sad. David has made it quite clear he wants to stay, and he will return to Galaxy without his heart being in the game. I honestly believe that the only thing that will keep him going now, is the 2010 World Cup.

I'm very disappointed. How must he feel now. Coming back and everyone knows he don't want.
Suki
I don't think it's over. The Galaxy wants more money and they'll find a way to work it out even if it means David pays part of it. No one benefits as it stands now.
I feel bad for David, he must be sad and disappointed no wonder Victoria stayed with him til the last moment. Shame on the Galaxy for not keeping his best interest at heart. David is a meal ticket for them because they suck. The MLS will never compare to Serie our any other European League which is why David wanted to stay. I wonder how they will benefit from all this latest PR.
If he goes back to LAG he WON'T be picked for England.
He is NOT going back to LA indefinitely, it is merely a tactic by LAG to raise the price Milan will pay for him. It is NOT over yet.
It will be interesting to see the reaction he gets from Galaxy fans when he's back on the pitch in LA.
I'm surprised AC Milan didn't do more to keep him.
i dont know how reliable the reports are but sentanta sports is saying that milan may have reached an agreement and it will be announced during tomorrows derby.. i am hoping that this may be true because i want beckham to stay with milan and not go back to the states
Sorry for David, but he can always try to find another team to transfer in the right way. Not like going on a loan and decides not to come back. I was thinking we didn't even give him a proper farewell if he left Galaxy now. I really don't know how this drama would affect this coming MLS season for David and Galaxy. Hopefully as he said, his fitness level is up and he'll help Galaxy to win the trophy! Yes, AC Milan is a great team and must be fun, even easier for David to play for, but I want to see David working his ass off for Galaxy and wining more caps for England team! Go, David!
I'm sad too. he so enjoy playing European soccor!
