David Beckham Gets Booked As Galaxy Lose

David Beckham received his first MLS yellow card in the 67th minute of the game between New York Red Bulls and LA Galaxy last night. He collided with New York’s Dave van den Bergh after van den Bergh passed the ball. A cascade of boos followed the announcement. The yellow card was Beckham’s first since the SuperLiga semifinal 15 August against D.C. United.

Juan Pablo Angel scored in the 78th minute to give the New York Red Bulls a 2-1 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Angel scored one minute after Gordon had tied the game 1-1. Mike Randolph passed from the left wing to Gordon, who made a nifty move against two defenders and scored from 10 yards inside the right post in the 77th minute.

Beckham had a chance to score in the 59th minute but Conway jumped to punch away Beckham's 40-yard free kick with both fists.

i dont understand why people in the states claim that david beckhams attempt at increasing soccer's appeal failed because attendance has greatly increased at not just galaxy games but all MLS games and there are more sport broadcasts about MLS games so he definitely did have a positive impact

I agree Kalen, he has done some great things to soccer in America, and it hasn't even been a full good season. Beckham is doing amazing.

OK...I am in America and I think Beckham has done wonders for soccer. Before it was like soccer what? Who cares? It was never on television. Now, there seems to be a little bit of a following, and that's awesome. Kids actually have someone to look up to be it Beckham or one of the other players they now hear about.

Secondly, I thought the same thing, is Katie pregnant? Sure looks like it.

And lastly, I hate to ruffle feathers, but it irks me that they let Tom and Katie around their kids. These are two of the weirdest and most unstable acting adults I've seen in a long time. Shall they just call Britney and ask her to dinner?
