David Beckham Named In The England Squad

I am very happy to announce that David Beckham was called up to the England squad last night, which means that he is probably on a plane now headed back to London to train with the squad.

There will be two games for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. The first is against Andorra in Barcelona on September 6 and the second against Croatia in Zagreb on September 10.

Here is the full squad.

Robinson (Blackburn), James (Portsmouth), Green (West Ham); Lescott (Everton), Bridge (Chelsea), A Cole (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Brown (Manchester United), Ferdinand (Manchester United), Johnson (Portsmouth), Upson (West Ham); Barry (Aston Villa), J Cole (Chelsea), Lampard (Chelsea), Bullard (Fulham), Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Downing (Middlesbrough), Bentley (Tottenham), Jenas (Tottenham); Walcott (Arsenal), Rooney (Manchester United), Defoe (Portsmouth), Heskey (Wigan)

David's coming to Zagreb? Well then, i know where i will be. It would be amazing if Victoria would come, but i guess she'll be too busy attending NYC Fashion Week.

I'm starting to get fed up with him.
He's missed quite a few games this season for LA.
The last game i went to, he was in England.
I'm going to the game on the 6th... but I guess he will not be there!
The LA Galaxy is paying him 250 million to play...
His number one priority should be the LA Galaxy!

LA Galaxy is messed now lol. That sucks... but great news Capello put him in the squad.

Posh I understand what you are saying, but David make it very clear that he would make himself available for England whenever picked. FIFA rules state that when picked a club has to release the player.

I think David is more willing to play for England than LA Galaxy, in all honesty.

I will probably go to Croatia:England match in Zagreb, but there's always some fights afterwards.

Posh, you do not need to be angry with David, but with the movement of the MLS, because not adjusting the schedule of matches with the rules of FIFA, and this is absurd.
P.S. David earns much, but also the Galaxy because exploit its global imagine, and if the sporting world knows the Galaxy they must say thanks to David. Ciao from Italy

obviously he is more willing to play for england than galaxy as that is his country and as a footballer i know that is the greatest honor one could possibly recieve. it doesnt mean he likes missing galaxy games but at the end of the day the world cup is the biggest stage in football and its much more important that he and his teammates are at this qualifier than with any of their clubs. at the end of the day club is just club
