It has been reported that David Beckham will celebrate oldest son's, Brooklyn's birthday by phone from Shanghai
He will call his family on Tuesday for the birthday, his press agent said on Monday.
Brooklyn will be nine on Tuesday.
"Unfortunately they will not be here (in China), but they send their love," David Beckham told a crowd at a promotional event.
Excited Chinese fans at the Galaxy's practice venue Monday showed a "Happy Birthday Brooklyn" banner as Beckham and his teammates left the field.
I reported earlier that Victoria and her sons Brooklyn and Romeo went to an airport after having lunch at Jack n Jill's.
Were they en route to China to surprise David?
