David Beckham made his 100th appearance for England, but a first-half penalty by Franck Ribery spoiled the party for David by giving France a 1-0 win at the Stade de France.
David had many highlights in the game, working tirelessly in his golden boots which were especially for this game made by Adidas. The downside was that David was booked in the 38 minute for pulling Ribery's shirt.
David was taken off on the 62nd minute and replaced by David Bentley. Fabio Capello said after the game that he only took David off because he wanted to see other players, and that he knows what David Beckham can do.
At the end of the game, David came back out onto the field to applaud the fans.
Looking at David after the match, you would have thought that England won the match as he was smiling broadly, obviously happy to get the 100th cap under his belt.
Asked how he felt, David could not hide his delight: "Obviously I’m made up. Since my debut all those years ago against Moldova I never dreamt I would reach 100 caps. But I’m honoured to reach the milestone, it’s always special to play for your country and to reach your milestone is extra special", he said.
"I want to carry on, as I said before the game I don’t see this as the end".
"It was a bonus to start, but it was more important to get that cap, but as I’ve said before I am a stubborn man and although things can change I want to carry on playing for my country."
"I think I proved my fitness, so fitness wise I felt great, fresh and sharp – and its nice to come here to one of my most favourite cities and play against some of the greatest players in the world."
"Its been a long way from Leytonstone. I’m so proud and happy my parents were here to see me and I want to thank them as well as my Nan, Granddad, sons and wife and sisters".
"Also I would especially like to say thank-you to the Manchester United fans, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy fans, and especially England fans, who have been through thick and thin with me."
BLESS HIM..... ♥
(sorry for all the horrible tagged pictures, I will replace them when I find the untagged ones)

Thank you for all the updates!
I've just seen this quote: "David played like I know he can play," said Capello. "I only substituted him because I wanted to see other players and I know him well."
I hope he continues to get picked!
