Naomi Campbell Sports dvb Sunglasses

Jennifer Lopez was the first celebrity to wear sunglasses from Victoria Beckham's dvb range. Now Naomi Campbell is wearing them too.

Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham once fell out after a confrontation which started when they met at a party, and the Naomi asked Victoria, "Why do they call you Posh?" and Victoria cleverly replied "Why do they call you beautiful?"

They famously made up in 2003 when they arrived together with Dolce & Gabbana at the Costume Institute Gala.

Good to see Naomi is supporting Victoria to show that not all celebrity friendships are fickle.

David Beckham OUT For 6 Weeks

David Beckham will be sidelined for approximately six weeks after being diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced Thursday.

If Beckham is sidelined for the full six weeks, his return would come with three games left in the MLS season. Those games would be against Toronto FC on 13 October, New York on 18 October and at Chicago on 21 October. I would say just wait until next season. Start a fresh.

The Galaxy declined to make any team officials available for comment Thursday. Figures.

The only good thing about this for me is that finally they will all take David's health seriously, David included.

Beckham says if England reach the Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland, he will be fitter than he has been at previous international tournaments.

Beckham told the Daily Express: "If we do qualify, I'll be a lot more rested than people playing in the Premier League.

"That is a big advantage of being in the USA, where the fixture calendar is different. It's also the advantage of the shorter season from April to October here.

"If we make it to the finals, I will be a lot fresher going into games."

David was out in LA yesterday with son Brooklyn buying sunglasses. He also took to time to lift up his Abercrombie shorts, so we could get a good look at his right knee in a brace as well as his left ankle.

The Curse Of The 13th

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I am a very superstitious person, and back when it was announced that David would be introduced to the LA Galaxy on Friday 13th July, I said it was not a good sign.

Unfortunately, this now appears to be true.

- His ankle problem prevented him from making his competitive debut until 9th August against DC United, were he came on as a substitute in the second half as his team again lost 1-0.

- Not being able to join in full training sessions.

- Fans booing him at stadiums.

- Beckham's involvement in bust-up during LA Galaxy's 3-0 defeat by Chivas and now his sprained ankle which could see him out for 6 weeks, in which he will miss 2 of England's biggest games.

As Janie said. "I hate to say I told you so". This move has been a disaster from the beginning and this all could have been avoided if they had just let him get 100% and think of the player rather than the money he generates. I believe that in shirts sales alone David has already nearly paid back the Galaxy so why don't they let him rest?

David Beckham told reporters after yesterday's game, "I'm going to have a scan tomorrow and we'll see the full extent of what it is and how long I'll be out, but at this stage, it's hard to tell, but it doesn't feel good.... With a ligament strain, it's 4-to-6 weeks. We'll have to wait and see... If it is four to six, I won't be flying to England."

He also said, referring to the left ankle injury he was already carrying when he began the game, "I went into the tackle a little light because of my ankle and tried to compensate for that. I'd have been better off not doing it at all... It's just gone from one thing to another thing. Maybe it's time for me to just say, `I need the rest,' and get it right and don't come back until it's right."

Beckham Hurts His Right Knee In SuperLiga Final

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Despite hopes of a positive result last night, David Beckham limped out of the first half of Los Angeles Galaxy's Superliga final clash with Mexican team Pachuca nursing what appeared to be a knee injury.

Beckham tripped over the ball when challenging Pachuca midfielder Fernando Salazar. David remained face down on the grass for a few seconds before gradually getting up and limping to the sidelines.

A Galaxy spokesman said Beckham had suffered a sprain to his right knee.

I fear David is pushing himself to hard. His body is obviously not 100% fit which is why he keeps getting injured. This will now no doubt put him out for our two crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers. I do not want see David play again until he is 100% fit for club and country.

This is really sad. You can see the pain in his face.

Galaxy tied the match after extra time 1-1. The game went to penalties which Galaxy lost 3-4.

All for nothing.

David Beckham Updates His Blog Before Tonights SuperLiga Final

Playing for England is always a special experience and none more so than running out onto the pitch at Wembley. Unfortunately, the result wasn’t the one we wanted, but I felt we played fairly well despite losing to Germany.

I managed to play the full 90 minutes which was great as it gets me that much closer to full match fitness and hopefully I can play more of a part in the upcoming Galaxy games.

I’m really looking forward to playing in my first cup final in the US against Pachuca on Wednesday. Although I was unable to play against them in the previous Super Liga cup game, we won 2-1, so I’m hoping to play tonight and help the team get another win. They are one of the top sides in Mexico so we know this will be tough game, but one we are all looking forward to.

I’ll let you know how the game goes.

David

I am sure we will know before you let us know. Looking forward to a positive result.

The pictures are from David and Victoria stocking up on groceries at their local Whole Foods.

David Beckham Trains...But Will He Play?

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

David Beckham contradicted the team's injury report from the day before and said, yes, he'll likely play in tonight's SuperLiga final against Pachuca.

Coach Frank Yallop spent time shrugging off questions at the press conference about an Internet report saying tonight's game could be his last. (prays)

Beckham is hoping to make it through today's game and Saturday's MLS game against Real Salt Lake. Then he'll be coming back to England for our crucial European Championship qualifiers against Israel on 8 September and Russia on 12 September. During which he's likely to miss two Galaxy games, but more importantly should he play he both games he will have 99 caps, one away from the big 100.

England are fourth in Group E with 14 points. Only the top two teams qualify for next summer's tournament. Come ON ENGERRRLAAAANNND.

David Beckham Will Not Feature In The SuperLiga Final

David Beckham's ankle injury will prevent him from playing in the tomorrow's SuperLiga Final. This is confirmed on the Galaxy website.

In more important news, I am deeply saddened to write that Sevilla midfielder Antonio Puerta died today three days after collapsing on the field during his team's Spanish league match against Getafe.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Football is such a beautiful sport and this is such a sad story.

I can not believe he was only 22 years old.

Such a truly sad story.

Surf's Up

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The Beckham's and the Ramsay's teamed up for some family fun this weekend in Malibu.

The parents watched as their sons had surfing lessons.

The most amazing thing about this trip is that Victoria is wearing flip flops. I would not think she would even own such a thing. My girl can walk on grass with heels, I am guessing walking on sand was step to far.

The Beckham's have been good friends with Gordon and Tana Ramsey for some time, last week we saw them at the Chivas game with Victoria.

The Ramsay's are thought to be staying with the Beckham's while Gordon films new series of Hells Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares in America.

Amber Spice

According to The Sun newspaper each letter of the new Spice Girl album cover symbolises each of the Spice Girls, as it did in their debut cover.

The S is made from amber and represents Victoria Beckham. The ruby pink P is Baby Emma Bunton.

Mel C’s letter I is made from a diamond; Geri Harlliwell is the C, made from sapphire stones; and the emerald E is Mel B. Interesting.

I never knew that.

No Beckham, No Goals, No Win For The Galaxy

For those who are interest, the Galaxy lost by 3-0 last night and the only good thing about that is Alexi Lalas, the man who took David Beckham to America, is facing the sack after a disastrous start to David's career with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Galaxy's head coach, Frank Yallop's job is also under serious threat following the club's promotion of assistant coach Paul Bravo to Director of Football.

A string of bad results and the Galaxy languishing one place off the bottom of the table has not pleased Galaxy owner Philip Anschutz, who is now having major doubts over Lalas and Yallop.

In other news, David and Victoria sure do love the Chateau Marmont. They were spotted dining there again on Saturday night.

Jesse Marsch Admits To Kicking David Beckham

Bank It Like Beckham

Maybe this is why Jesse Marschhe of Chivas kicked David Beckham.

According to the source, Jesse only makes $109,375 a year compared to David's $6,500,000 a year. David earns more than Jesse's yearly pay in one day.

Beckham WON'T Travel To Colorado

Thank God.

The LA Times is reporting that David is physically drained by playing three games, on two continents, in six days, and with his left ankle again causing him problems he will stay in LA.

This is the smartest move for the Galaxy, despite the expected backlash from the Denver fans.

Could Galaxy Be Putting A Stop To Beckham Playing For England?

Lalas told BBC Sport: "We have a vested interest in this player and we have spent a tremendous amount of money to retain his services."

"We want to make sure we get our money's worth and that he is healthy and both physically and mentally ready to go when he plays for the Galaxy."

"I'm not going to deny there comes a point when your body can't do it anymore,"
said Galaxy boss Alexi Lalas.

"If at any point we felt it was detrimental to his health or ability to help our team we would take action."

During the next 12 weeks, Beckham faces more than 22 games as he travels more than 75,000 air miles across 128 time zones – which translates into nearly a solid week in the air.

For his part, Beckham dismissed jet-lag claims, he told the BBC: "So far it hasn't affected me. In the future, who knows?"

I hate it when Alexi Lalas talks about David in money terms. I understand his point, but I would love to see him take on FIFA and deny David reaching 100 caps. Good luck buddy this is a battle he will surely LOSE.

Victoria Beckham Wants Another Baby In 2008

Victoria Beckham says she'd like to be a mum again in 2008.

"We'd like to have another - maybe next year," she told the Daily Mirror. "He or she might be lucky enough to have dual nationality."

Victoria and hubby David, have made it no secret that they really want a daughter to complete the family.

And Posh says LA is a brilliant place for youngsters.

"It's so great for us all here. The children love the sports and outdoor activities, David loves his new team, and I'm just really happy to be somewhere where I already have friends."

Also in the interview she talks about their new home and how the kids are settling in.

Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz have their bedrooms full of LA Galaxy gear. "The boys are all choosing decorations for their rooms at the moment," laughs Victoria.

"We let them express themselves pretty much however they want with different murals and things. But they all want David's team strip - especially Brooklyn.

He's obsessed and wants his dad's stuff everywhere."

That is the cutest thing I ever heard, Brooklyn is adorable. He is a fan of Daddy just like any other 8 year old.

2 Days, 2 Games, 2 Continents, 2 Defeats

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Scott E watched the game last night and he said that this was definitely David's worst game for Galaxy tonight as they lost 3-0 at home to Chivas USA.

As you can see from the video David almost got into a fight with Jesse Marschhe of Chivas USA, after Jesse doesn't even go for the ball and appears to kick David in the chest.

After the match Yallop admitted, "At the end of our match, he looked a bit hobbled and he should have been rested". SO WHY DID YOU NOT REST HIM? What an idiot I am really beginning to hate this guy.

But Beckham by no means should be blamed for this loss. One football commentator said "The way most of the team played, you'd think it was the rest of the squad that was suffering from jet lag."

The only thing this experiment did was prove that I can not/should not have been done.

The only loser here is David. And when I say loser, I mean with regard to his health. He limped heavily towards the end of the game and will be expected to play in Colorado this Sunday. Yep more travelling.

David Beckham Flys Back To LA

David Beckham left London's Heathrow Airport this morning to catch a flight back to Los Angeles.

Now I was under the impression that he was leaving last night as yesterday coach Yallop said yesterday David was to be "traveling all night and turning up at 1 o'clock at LAX". But of course he meant all night LA time and not London time.

If David got the 10am BA flight, he should arrive in LA 1pm as Yallop said. So that would leave 6 hours before kick off.

Now let's calculate this.

- David will land around 1pm, with a police escort he will clear customs and be in a car by 1.30pm.

- He would then travel home, which from any airport would take approximately an hour, so I guess he will arrive home by 2.30pm.

- Players tend to arrive at the stadium 2 hours before kick off to allow pre-match talk, and warm up, so David would need to be at the stadium by 5pm.

- So between 2.30pm and 4pm (allowing an approximately an hour to travel to the stadium), he will have about an hour and a half to say 'Hi' to his family, unpack his bags and get a little shut eye.

I think only Superman can pull this off. I am exhausted just typing that.

Wishing David all the best for tonights game.

Tatt's Not Fair

Victoria Beckham is said to be annoyed that the Spice Girls promotional shot released to commemorate the event has had her tattoo dedicated to husband airbrushed out, and even worse Mel B's had been left untouched.

The symbol, which translates as "I am beloved and my beloved is mine", she got as a sign of devotion to David.

She was not happy her tattoo, which she loves to bits, appeared to have been completely airbrushed out and made it clear that she felt erasing it was a total liberty.

I would be equally annoyed. Mel's tattoo is really in your face as Victoria's is subtle, so why the airbrushing?

97 Down, 3 More To Go

The only good thing to come out of England's 1-2 defeat to Germany tonight was that David has 3 more games to go to become one of the greats of English football and reach 100 caps.

Only great icons Peter Shilton, Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton and William Wright have over 100 caps, and David wants this too.

England started off very well in the match, but after Germany scored they never recovered. David looked very tired towards the end of the match, but continued to run and chase the ball. It is a shame he has to travel back to the US with a loss after travelling all that way to play.

Galaxy coach Frank Yallop spoke to USA Today about David playing in the MLS against Chivas on Thursday. "In some capacity, I would think, he would get on the field if he feels OK. He wants to be available and ready to go. Don't be surprised if he's starting; don't be surprised if he gets five minutes."

"He'll be traveling all night and turning up at 1 o'clock at LAX," Yallop said. "If he can get a snooze before he comes to the stadium, that will be good. But I've done that trip a few times when I played for Canada, and it's not easy."

After the game David said, "It was nice to get the minutes. In the last nine weeks I have only played two games and trained three times. The ankle still a bit sore but it was nice to be out there... The way you can travel these days I can sleep whenever I want and for me it's not a problem. It's not affected me yet and I'll carry on playing for my country."

He also said, "I got a knock on my ankle and it has slightly swelled up again but I'm planning on playing tomorrow."

That Extra 5 Inches

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

These pictures are from Tuesday when Victoria Beckham was spotted taking Cruz to a summer day camp in Beverly Hills.

I am so impressed that Victoria manages to carry a small child wearing 5 ins Louboutin heels, while managing to negotiate the troublesome terrain, along with a large designer handbag. Amazing.

Victoria was wearing her favourite low-cut black tank top and super skinny jeans outfit. This looks is fast becoming a uniform for Victoria. I wish she would brighten it up a little.

Victoria once said: "The ideal clothes to seduce a man are simple but sexy, high heels, tight jeans and a tight T-shirt." Check, check, check and check.

It's Exhausting Being Fabulous....

...so Victoria Beckham took a break lounging poolside at the exclusive Bacara resort in Santa Barbara sans kids.

It looks like she is sending someone a message on Blackberry. It could be David, who has been writing a lot lately.

He has recently updated his blog again and he says:

After playing for an hour against D.C. United on Wednesday, it was brilliant to play the full ninety minutes against Red Bull New York, especially as it was my first full MLS game. On top of being given the honour of captain again, I managed to set up a few goals, which obviously, was a great feeling even though we were really unfortunate to concede a late goal and lose the game. The atmosphere at the Giants’ stadium was incredible, and there was a huge turnout for the match which really gave us all a fantastic buzz.

I’m not used to the harder ground out here, but being quite stubborn, I was determined to play the whole game and I’m glad that I did.

I’m still getting to know my team mates on the pitch and learning more about the way they play with every game, but I feel I’ve played a part over the past two fixtures and I’m really looking forward to future matches, starting with our derby against Chivas USA.

Whilst I was in New York, I also helped to support a soccer clinic at FC Harlem. The MLS has dedicated a field in Harlem for the team and Adidas are providing the team kit for the club too. It was a really positive event and I enjoyed working and playing with the children there.

I’m currently in the UK training with the England Squad before the friendly with Germany on Wednesday. It was great to be called up and to be part of the set up is always an honour. Hopefully, I’ll get to play a part against Germany and if I do I’ll let you know how it goes here!"

Speak to you soon.

David

Bless. I can't wait to hear how it goes. Hopefully he will telling us about a great goal he scored.

David Beckham Trains With The England Squad

Less than 12 hours after landing in the UK, David Beckham was back training with his England team mates.

You have to admire this man's drive and stamina. I know he gets paid big bucks to play football, but I don't think many in his shoes would do the same.

David showed little sign of jetlag at the opening training session at Arsenal's training ground in London Colney today. He was spent some time talking to Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger, who I hope was trying to convince him to come play for Arsenal once he gets bored of playing in the US.

The England boss said: "I think David can combine playing out there and coming here. I understand everyone's concern about that - but the proof will be not just in his performances but also in training.

"When we brought him back (last time) in the Monday training session, there was a lot of pressure on him and a lot of people looking.

"His performance in training got rid of the doubts. We will know that. That is what we assess. It is not just in games we look at him, it is in training as well."

Welcome Home David

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

David Beckham arrived at Heathrow Airport in London yesterday. It has been reported that he appeared to be walking with a pronounced limp, as he made his way through the terminal building to a waiting vehicle.

I hope he manages to get some rest and not work too hard on that ankle if he is injured.

I think David is very determined to play regardless of his injury. I hope that if he does play on Wednesday that he gives himself a rest on Friday. He can't please everyone.

Last Minute Goal Sinks Galaxy To Another Defeat

An MLS record crowd of 66,237 watched David Beckham play a full 90 minutes at Giants stadium last night.

The Galaxy scored two in the space of five minutes early in the game - both Beckham assists - but lost to a last minute goal from Juan Pablo Angel, to end the game 5-4.

The most disappoint thing again was the booing every time David touched the ball, and this is despite most people in the stadium wearing Beckham shirts. Beckham's response to the boo boys were “I’ve had that at many away grounds, and I’ve had worse than that.” Much worst in my opinion.

The funniest thing about the those booing is that they paid from $40-$60 for this game when a usual game at the Giants Stadium is around $9. Also the average crowd at the Giants Stadium is 15,000, so did those extra 50,000 pay over the odds just to boo him? (*eyeroll*)

Beckham could be seen limping on his troublesome left ankle at times, and after the game he admitted he would have to wait and see if he would be fit this week.

"Only time will tell," he said. "I've got to see how it is on Sunday. It's swollen up at the moment but that was always going to happen. I'm traveling to London on Sunday morning to meet up with the team and hopefully I'll be playing some sort of role on Wednesday."

"I was surprised to actually play 90 minutes,"
Beckham said. "The manager and the coaching staff kept asking me if I wanted to come off. But I'm quite a stubborn person on and off the field. When we were winning I didn't want to come off and when we were losing I didn't want to come off.

"I think my stubborness took over and I didn't want to come off the pitch."

Beckham had initially been reluctant to play on the artificial turf used at Giants Stadium. He added: "My ankle took a pounding obviously, I'm not used to this surface, but it wasn't bad."

Yallop is clearly reluctant to let his star player go when he is obviously still battling the injury which has hampered his introduction to MLS.

Asked how he felt about releasing Beckham for international duty, Yallop replied "It's a FIFA date, if the player is fit and he gets called up, he has to go." Asked directly if he wanted Beckham to go, Yallop simply said: "He wants to go."

David Beckham Coaches Harlem Kids

David Beckham was in uptown New York yesterday afternoon participating in a youth soccer (blah) clinic at Jacob Schiff Field in Harlem.

He was coaching 30 lucky invited youngsters from FC Harlem, launching a scheme that will see a new pitch built and new openings to play the game.

David seems determined to raise the profile of football in the US and he is really going the right way about it by making himself so accessible.

David told The Times. “Places like this in Harlem – there’s so many kids out there who want to learn the game. You can see them enjoying it and for me that’s the most important thing.”

As important as playing? he was asked. “Without a doubt. This is one of the reasons why I moved to the US, not just to play for the Galaxy but to be an ambassador for the league, for the sport. Today has been one of the best moments since I arrived.” (falling in love with him a whole lot more)

The Galaxy play the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium tonight. Last Sunday, New York’s home game against Toronto FC attracted 12,103. 60,000 tickets have been sold so far for tonights game, though the midfield player is unlikely to last 90 minutes on the stadium’s artificial turf.

After signing many autographs, David gives his trainers (sneakers) to a young kid in the crowd. How cute.

The New Spice Girls 'Greatest Hits' Album Cover

The Spice Girls new Greatest Hit Album Cover has just been revealed on thespicegirls.com.

I think it is a little plain, but then it is very similar to the first 'Spice' album so maybe they were going for nostalgia.

David Beckham Is Included In The England Squad

David Beckham was included in Steve McClaren's England Squad today.

David insists he can play for England on Wednesday and for the Los Angeles Galaxy the following day on a different continent. Yep you read it right.

David is in New York today for tomorrow's Major League Soccer clash with the New York Red Bulls from where he plans to depart for England to join up with Steve McClaren's squad for next week's friendly against Germany at Wembley.

Beckham aims to return to California the day after his Wembley appearance for the MLS derby against Chivas USA, who share the Galaxy's ground.

"For the club it's not a conflict," said the former England captain. "They made me well aware that they would do anything to help me play for my country. Obviously, it is going to be difficult travel-wise. I will go straight to New York if my ankle is fine and I will play some minutes in New York. I fly from New York either Saturday night or Sunday, then meet up with the England team on Monday. We play Wednesday, and I fly back Thursday morning."

Wooo....I am exhausted just reading that. He is going to be exhausted. I hope he listens to his body and does not push himself too hard, especially as he has not fully recovered from his ankle injury.

Copy Cat Jets To LA

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but this woman needs to give it up.

Chanelle Hayes, who is currently in LA, has copied ANOTHER one of Victoria's outfit's.

The first time was when she copied Victoria's Glamour Awards Chanel/Cavalli outfit now she is at it again, wearing another poorer version of the dress Victoria wore in LA earlier this year.

Chanelle had jetted all the way to LA with the aim to meet Victoria Beckham, but when she arrived at the Galaxy game, the wannabee Posh-a-like was denied entry to the VIP area.

A source told The Sun: "There was no way Chanelle was getting past Posh's security.

"She's flattered that Chanelle is a fan but she is in no rush to meet her."

I don't blame her.

The Beckham's Sneak Inside 'High School Musical 2' Premiere

The Beckham's made a secret visit to watch made-for-TV movie High School Musical 2 when it had premiere at Disneyland California on Tuesday.

Victoria, David and their kids sneakily crept in the back way to be among the first to see film, while avoiding the film's massive celebrations taking place around the theme park.

See celebrities can have a private life, if they want to.

Intimately Beckham Night

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Apparently this is new, which I find strange considering she has dark hair in the picture and he actually has hair.

Anyways, Intimately Beckham Night, which they recently launched at the Bel Air Hotel will be available in American department stores in September.

So what do you think of the advertising?

I don't like it mainly because it is clearly an old picture. I wish it was fresh and new.

David Blogs Before He Heads To New York

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Hello everyone,

I know, another blog so soon, but after my game yesterday I couldn’t wait to let you know how I felt.

It was incredible to finally start the game against D.C. United but to actually score a goal in my first proper home match was more than I could have hoped for, and an intensely amazing moment for me. On top of that I was handed the captain’s armband for the start of the game and I felt very proud to have been given that honour so early on in my career here. I definitely hope there are a few more of those!

I felt fit, so that was very encouraging and I was pleased to play a good hour of the game, but especially pleased that we won and we’re in the final of the SuperLiga. The fans were superb all night and I thought we deserved to go through, even though D.C. gave us a few problems and are a very strong team.

I’m now looking forward to our next game against Red Bull New York and hope to play a part in that. Hopefully, we can build on last night’s fantastic result.

Speak to you soon
David

Awwww....I love how he says he just couldn't wait to let us know how he felt. Everyday I fall in love with him more and more.

That Extra Half An Inch US Release

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Victoria Beckham will be releasing her style guide, which is already a bestseller in the U.K., in the United States through Harper Entertainment.

That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between will be a small, handbag-sized book that includes practical advice on fashion, beauty and personal style.

"Victoria has a fantastic sense of personal style and panache, and That Extra Half an Inch helps women make the most of everything they have in dressing for any occasion," said Harper Entertainment paperback publisher Carrie Kania, who made the deal for U.S. rights along with executive editor Laurie Chittenden. "While Europeans have long been aware of her role as a fashion trendsetter, we want to help bring that sensibility to American women as well."

No doubt there will be a book signing to look forward too.

The book is due for release in November.

Captain Fantastic

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

If you are like me you are wondering why David Beckham was captain last night instead of Landon Donovan? A midseason captaincy change is generally rare.

Apparently Donovan initiated the move, with Galaxy coach Frank Yallop's approval.

"Landon and David had a chat on Tuesday," said Yallop. "Landon wanted him to have that role."

The change was a no-brainer, according to Donovan.

"I'm not stupid," Donovan said. "Beckham has been a captain for England, one of the better teams in the world. For me, it's not as important to wear the armband. I'm going to play the same way and act the same way towards guys whether I have that or not. I think it made him immediately part of the team in a real sense, not just on the field. I think guys looked at him differently, and he could say things to guys differently. I told him that if he was ready for it, I thought it was appropriate that he wear it and that I thought it would help us right now."

Looks like he was right.

At the post match press conference David said "I'm very honored that he felt the need to give me the armband and that he felt it would lift the team."

"As soon as the free kick was given - I don't want to sound too confident - but I felt I was going to score," Beckham said of the set piece. "It might sound easy to say it after I've scored, but that's the feeling I actually had."

"It was a great team performance tonight. We showed a lot of character to play like we did. I didn't expect to last an hour, but it felt great after 10 minutes into the game. My confidence grew."

This should make Victoria Beckham smile. She has been given a $5 million credit limit at top Beverly Hills fashion store Neiman Marcus.

A source revealed to In Touch Weekly magazine: "Victoria has been doing all she can to boost the U.S. economy!"

"She went to Barney's in Los Angeles last week. She spent $3,670 on a Goyard cosmetics case, $5,745 on an Azzedine Alaia mini-dress and $4,995 on a purple Dolce and Gabbana dress."

"She has now been offered a $5 million credit limit at Neiman Marcus."

Bored Like Posh

While husband David was bending it in, Victoria looked bored as hell.

I know it was not the winning goal at the World Cup final, and I know she has seen it all before - many times - but it was a very important goal for him being his first goal for his new club - which he was captaining - plus he just came back from a recurring injury.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I must say I was disappointed in her reaction, at least a smile would not have killed her. Had it been me I would not have been able to contain myself with joy and happiness, much like the other people in the picture.

UPDATE: I am well aware that she has Cruz on her lap, I was not expecting her to jump up and down. My point was a SMILE or some emotion would not have hurt.

UPDATE2: Dear Kaelyn...I have searched all over and yet to find a single picture of her smiling at this event as you claim. I have checked JustJared, I have see the live pictures and nothing. PLEASE can you let email me the picture you saw of her at the game smiling, so I can post it and you can prove me wrong.

Beckham Starts, Beckham Scores, Galaxy Win!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Galaxy/England star David Beckham officially lived up to the hype Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

Beckham, making his first start stateside, scored in the 27th minute on a free kick to give the Galaxy a lead they never relinquished. Becks, who was named team captain for the game, also assisted on Galaxy's other goal scored by Landon Donovan in the 2nd half, sealing the win for LA 2-0

Beckham also received a booking in the match, but that didn't take away from the first LA win, in which he participated. Posh and the kids cheered him on from their luxury suite at the Southwest end of the Home Depot Center.

Now that David has started in a game, scored in a game, and won a game the question now is if America has bought into the hype surrounding number 23.

If the coverage on ESPN tonight is any indication, then Id say football is starting to turn the corner in the States, thanks to a "kick" in the rear by Goldenballs.

Words and Pictures by Scott E

Thanks Scott E, great write up. I am so happy you got to see Becks first goal for the Galaxy....Becks is truly Captain Fantastic.

David Beckham WILL Play Wednesday Night

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

David Beckahm has just announced that he will play on Wednesday night.

Today he trained with his team mates and said that although his left ankle injury isn’t completely healed, he is about about 78% fit. I would prefer a 100% but Scott E is going to this game tomorrow and I would love Becks to play so we can get some pitch side reporting.

David said"It’s not perfect yet, but I think I can at least play half a game tomorrow. It still feels unstable to a certain extent, but it feels stable enough to actually play in a game and see how far I can take it."

The Galaxy host D.C. United in the SuperLiga tournament semifinals Wednesday night. The teams met last week in a Major League Soccer game. The Galaxy lost 1-0 in a game in which Beckham played the final 21 minutes.

Will David start or comes off the bench? I hope David starts the game, as he is yet to walk onto a pitch with his team mates.

Here are some pictures of David and Brooklyn going out for coffee on Monday. A lucky fan managed to get her photo taken with him.

Victoria Beckham Plumps Up For Ugly Betty Role

According to the Daily Star Victoria Beckham will shock viewers in her upcoming cameo on the US hit show Ugly Betty.

Victoria – who will be playing herself - is set to exchange her trademark lean figure for a fat suit.

She rumoured to be playing an overweight bridesmaid in the show which is due to air later this year.

"Everybody at the wedding will be expecting skinny, beautiful Posh to show up" a show insider revealed to the Daily Star

"But they’ll be horrified to see she’s piled on the pounds because of major comfort-eating and American junk food."

I think would be hilarious if it is true. Victoria would relish a chance to take the pi** out of herself like on her reality TV show.

Galaxy Lose AGAIN As David Watches From The Bench

David Beckham did not play for the Galaxy against New England Revolution last night, resting his sore left ankle for the second time in three Major League Soccer games.

"It just didn't feel right," his coach Frank Yallop told reporters after the 1-0 New England victory. "He didn't want to risk it, so we decided not to."

Beckham appeared 15 minutes before the game, signing autographs for members of a record crowd that was the Revolution's largest for an MLS regular-season game, around 21,000 above average.

Hopefully his ankle will be better before Wednesday's game which Scott E will be going to.

David Beckham's MLS Debut Breaks TV Ratings Records

David Beckham's Major League Soccer debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy on Thursday drew a record 1.5 million television viewers for an MLS game, ESPN said.

The Galaxy fell 1-0 DC United, with Beckham coming on as a 72nd-minute substitute.

ESPN News said the figures outstripped the previous record - 1,092,000 which saw DC United against San Jose in 1996.

Another Injury Blow For David Beckham

David Beckham may miss Galaxy's match against New England Revolution on today.

Reader Scott E will be going to the game tonight so hopefully David will be playing so we can get some pitch side reporting.

It has been reported that David aggravated the ankle injury that has been plaguing him recently and is not confident about his fitness.

"I'm not sure about my ankle. It flared up again after the DC United game,"
he said.

Beckham had originally said that he hoped to play a half of the New England game and a full match against New York Red Bulls on 18 August but now looks likely to revert to a place on the bench against the Revolution, who have sold all 32,000 tickets for the match.

Victoria Beckham Goes Shopping In Barney's Of New York In LA

At last new pictures of Victoria Beckham.

Victoria has not been seen shopping for over 10 days, so it was only a matter of time before we saw her in her natural habitat.

Victoria, her sister Louise Adams, daughter Tallulah-May and Romeo all went shopping in Barney's Of New York in Beverly Hills.

Victoria looked amazing as always in a cute vintage Christian Lacroix black printed dress, super high Jimmy Choo pumps and her pink ostrich Hermes bag. It looks like her hair is growing back to the pob, which I much prefer.

Looks like she may have brought a new pair of Louboutin's.

Victoria Beckham Dodges The Paparazzi To Get A Burger

Since Victoria Beckham arranged to have permit parking on her street, she's able to leave her house without being followed so easily by paparazzi.

She took advantage of her new freedom by taking her kids to one of their favorite places - Hamburger Hamlet on Sunset. It was a low key early dinner - just her, the excited boys, and the bodyguard. A witness said "She was a cute mom and totally casual in jeans - the kids were well behaved and everybody ordered burgers."

Awww this sounds so cute. Although I love seeing photos of her in her next fab outfit, I also love that she can go out and have some alone time with her kids. She is a great mum.

Next time she should take them to Jack In The Box, best burgers in THE WORLD.

Identity Crisis

The loser on the left is former UK Big Brother housemate Chanelle Hayes.

As you can see her favourite person in the whole world is Victoria Beckham, but I think she is taking her admiration waaaay to far.

She told Heat magazine: "I still think my Posh persona is brilliant, but now I've been given the chance to create as much of my persona as I can and that's what I want to do. I'm pretty OK being me."

I think she is deluded and void of any kind of personality, so she has to copy Victoria. Plus by copying Posh she gets herself in the papers and fuel her over inflated ego. I so can not wait for her 15 mins of fame to be up. I hate reality tv idiots.

The sad thing is Chanelle actually believes she looks like Posh...yeah right love, you wish.

David Beckham Makes His MLS Debut

David Beckham made his Major League Soccer debut for Los Angeles Galaxy in Washington last night in front of 46,686 fans, but was unable to prevent his new side losing 1-0.

England coach Steve McClaren was in the crowd as he came on as a 72nd-minute substitute against DC United.

Beckham, who has been struggling with an ankle injury, said he was delighted to finally play for his new team.

"It's not nice to disappoint people who have paid a lot of money to see you, so it was good to get on the pitch."

But the midfielder admitted he was disappointed with the result, which saw Galaxy beaten by Emilio's 27th-minute goal.

"It was a good night, but it was also a bad night," Beckham said.

"Obviously, there's been a certain amount of pressure because everyone is talking about how I've come to MLS and not played yet."

"But I don't feel pressure in that sense. I feel pressure in myself to get fit and to get back playing again."

During his appearance Beckham showed no ill-effects from the ankle injury that has delayed his MLS debut.

The Beckham's Are Learning To Speak American

We haven't seen much of Victoria lately. Here she is leaving 19 managment yesterday.

In a recent interview Victoria said that the family are getting used to US words.

"We're starting to say trunk instead of boot, trash instead of rubbish, that kind of thing,".

Can He Kick It? Yes He Can

Here are some encouraging photos of David Beckham kicking a ball yesterday during a light training session.

"The ultimate decision will come down to David," says Yallop. "I'm not going to put him out there to re-injure it. We'll put him out there when he is fit and ready to go. He's getting close. We won't force it. He knows his own body and he'll let us know if he is ready to go."

After training there was a press conference. When asked weather he would play tonight, David said, "Hopefully I will play some part of it. We're not sure yet. We'll see how it reacts today."

On his recovery: "It's always frustrating when you are a sportsman and you can't do what you love doing. It's frustrating because it's an injury that I have had now for almost eight weeks. It's getting better, it's improving every day, but a lot of people and myself want it to be a bit quicker. Obviously it's a natural thing to heal in a natural way and that's what I am trying to do."

On training: "I trained for about 20 minutes, which was good. I still have some discomfort from certain parts of the play and certain parts of running, but overall it's still a frustrating time for myself. It's looking up. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully I get out there playing soon."

On some peoples reaction to his injury: "Obviously there are going to be people that maybe don't understand, but it's a sports injury. I can't really apologize for being injured. It's just a way of life in any sportsman's career. I must say that it's so frustrating for myself to not be out there on the pitch."

Shocking News!!!

David Beckham did not make the Top 20 on Esquire's Best Dressed List.

How could this be? David should have been in at least the Top 5.

David took part in light training with his team-mates at the RFK Stadium on Tuesday - the first time he has practised along with the rest of the team since joining the club - but his ankle injury continues to bother him.

DC United have sold out all 45,000 tickets for Thursday's game, which will be nationally televised. Also in the crowd will be England manager Steve McClaren, who is flying in to check on Beckham and to assess for himself the standard of MLS.

David has stated that he will NOT even consider playing for England until he has several games under his belt for Galaxy.

David spent some time with fans after training to take pictures and sign autographs. That evening David took some time out with his team mates at Mortons.

LA Galaxy Boys Go Shopping

After the baseball game, David Beckham and his team mates also had time to go shopping.

They were spotted at Roots, who's apparel is like Abercrombie and Fitch with the hoodies and graphic tees, which is very much David's off duty style.

They all shopped for about an hour and were given a free leather bag in the LA Galaxy colours. White & Blue leather or Yellow & Blue leather...ick...I would not be keeping that gift.

Beckham Steals The Show At Baseball Game

David Beckham and his teammates spent their day off today in Toronto watching the Blue Jays host the New York Yankees.

Several members of the Toronto Blue Jays and Yankees took the opportunity to get autographs and have their picture taken with David Beckham. But unfortunately David was not a lucky charm for the Blue Jays as they lost their winning streak to the Yankees.

The Galaxy are scheduled to fly to Washington on Tuesday for a match on Thursday against D.C. United.

Beckham, who continues to struggle with a nagging left ankle injury, and leaves Toronto with no set date for a return to action saying he needed another week to 10 days to reach game fitness.

Last night after their draw Becks and his LA Galaxy teammates closed down the Ultra Supper Club and partied the night away.

Smells Like Love

David and Victoria Beckham have launched fragrances in the US.

'Intimately Beckham' follows the success of David's 'Instinct' fragrance.

The couple held the small exclusive launch at Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

"Why is this different from any other celebrity fragrance? The fact that we have spent a lot of time checking all the details," said Victoria to WWD.

"We are not just saying, 'We are celebrities, put our name on it.' I love to be involved with the whole process."

I must say I am very surprised this launch was so hush hush.

Suited Becks Takes The Bench

What a farce.

Why is he on the bench? Why is he not watching the game from the stands like most players in suits who are not fit to play? To please the celebrity watchers of course.

Celebrity watchers craned their necks for a glimpse of David Beckham as he arrived on Toronto FC's pitch Sunday, while thousands of boisterous sports fans sneered at the publicity spectacle and taunted him with jeers and signs as he sat on the sidelines.

Those who are interested game was drawn 0-0.

England boss Steve McClaren wants David back for the August 22 friendly with Germany and Euro qualifiers against Israel and Russia in September.

Becks said: "I have to play a few games before I even think about going home to England to play for my country.

My main priority is getting fit and playing for LA Galaxy. Getting on the training pitch is my biggest goal at the moment."

Earlier that same day, Victoria Beckham and Romeo attended the sports event X Games 13 (Motor X, BMX freestyle, Skateboarding, and Surfing i.e. Boys stuff) at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

I am not a fan of the visible bra and tank top look. A tank top works better with either a strapless bra or racer-back bra.

David Beckham Arrives In Toronto

David arrived in Toronto today with his team mates. He was restricted to what he could do in training because of his sore ankle,.

He was rarely in view during the training session, although he was glimpsed sitting on the bench as the workout ended.

This really is sad. He should be in LA resting. The ice pack on his leg clearly indicates that he has aggravated his ankle on the flight to Canada. I feel sorry for him, he has been brought out like a show pony to keep everyone happy.

I hope think Frank Yallop is an intelligent guy, and he will not risk David tomorrow.

David's team mates seem to have bonded with their celebrity midfielder.

"I think he's more frustrated than anyone," said goalkeeper Joe Cannon. "You can tell, he wants to play."

"You know what, he's an absolute normal guy," said Halifax defender Ante Jazic. "When you see all the media attention he has, in the locker-room he's quiet, he keeps to himself, polite, talks to the guys. He's just a normal guy."

"What's David Like? He's pretty handsome," Landon Donovan, the Galaxy's other star, said jokingly "He's actually very handsome.

"Nice guy, shy, just kind of quiet. Does his own thing. Really unassuming for someone of his fame and stature but he's been good. He's been enjoyable."

Beckham Will Travel To Toronto

After the backlash of David not travelling to Dallas because his ankle had not improved, David WILL travel with the Galaxy for Sunday's match with Toronto FC.

The match will be the Galaxy's first regular-season match with Beckham in the squad, but his actual chances of stepping onto the field appear to be slim to none.

"It'll be tough to put him in the line-up with what he's been doing," Yallop said, citing Beckham's lack of training with the club. "The chances are probably slim, I would think."

When pressed, Yallop said that Beckham would "probably not" play against Toronto.

But at least those Toronto fans will be happy he travelled all that way just to sit on the bench, because after all that is what really matters, forget staying in LA and recuperating. (Said with EXTREME irony).

Britney & Victoria - No Drama Here

Regular reader Scott E got the truth behind the Victoria - Britney Chateau Marmont story.

Scott's friend works in the restaurant and he says that Victoria and David got up and left, but Victoria did NOT call Britney a mess. There was clearly a frustration by the Beckham's when Spears was seated next to them. They asked for the bill in a bit of a hurry and that was it.

No drama, that may be boring to some, but that is the truth.

The Chateau Marmont must be a great place because David and Victoria were spotted leaving there again this week.

"You couldn't even drive by because the paparazzi were hanging out, waiting for them to leave the house," she said "It's kind of a pain."

Jay Leno see's it differently however, he sees it as a good thing because he now lives in the safest street in LA.

It is a classic case of swings and roundabouts.

Who Snubbed Who: Victoria or Britney?

Closer magazine reports that Victoria and David Beckham were recently dining out at the Chateau Marmont hotel when Britney Spears arrived. Britney allegedly sat next to the the Beckham's. Victoria got angry and told the staff that she refused to sit near "that mess".

"Britney walked in and sat next to Victoria and David. Victoria was fuming and got up, practically dragging David with her. She told staff it was ridiculous to think she’d want to sit near ‘that mess’ Britney. It’s not a good move for anyone," says a source sitting near.

Meanwhile, the New York Daily News appears to be telling the opposite story. They claim Britney Spears turned up at the Chateau and the only table available was the one next to Victoria but Britney didn't want to sit next to her, so she and her friend stormed off to Il Sole instead.

Personally, I don't think Victoria would be threaten by Britney. Britney knows that more attention would be paid to Victoria, she could not deal with that and left, I believe.

In Victoria's Closet - Hermes Bag Collection

Victoria is anything but a bag lady as she can afford all of these gorgeous Hermes Birkin bags in a rainbow of colours - at around £8,000 a EACH.

Reporters says she must have spent around £56,000 on the luscious bags. I reckon more....unless they were given to her.

The expensive price tag is down to its exclusivity - the waiting list for a special edition can be six years.

It suppose it is not enough that we have to envy Victoria for getting into bed with David Beckham every night. We now have to have Bag envy>

The bags range from the Orange Birkin, the Etoupe Birkin, the much admired Pink Ostrich Birkin, Etoupe Birkin, White Birkin, White Kelly with Orange piping, mini black Kelly, Blue Jean, Brown Ostrich Vintage Kelly, Shearling Kelly, Rouge Box Kelly, Tri colour Vintage Kelly, Vert Anis Birkin....phew!

His billboards have been put up in Hollywood above LA Galaxy's Home Depot Center. That must be wide seeing yourself half naked every time you drive to work.

Idiots

It is idiots like this that prove to me that David will NEVER conquer America.

What do they expect him to do? Play with one leg?

Too scared? Scared of what?

David has won nearly everything there is to win in football. He is doing these football (I will NEVER call it soccer) fans a favour by highlighting the great game in the US, and this is the thanks he gets.

Just when I was coming around to the idea of David playing for the Galaxy actually working this happens. I hope he comes back to Europe after a year and puts this nonsense behind him.

I am FURIOUS.

To think he said on his blog yesterday, "I’ve been working really hard this week in the gym to try and get fit as quickly as possible and get playing again. As anyone who knows me is well aware, I love playing soccer and can’t wait to get out on the pitch and play a part in the upcoming games".

Queen Of The Road

Victoria sure does love her new Bentley.

I have never seen her driving so much since she moved to LA. If I had a custom-made convertible Bentley, I would want to drive it alot too.

Maybe she is out looking for sites for her upscale clothes store it has been reported she has been planning.

Apparently the store will sell Posh's own dVb designer range. A source told The People newspaper: "Victoria wants to ensure she is as much of a fashion icon in the States as in the UK and this seems the ideal way to do it."
